[Review] Rhodes Bake-N-Serv: Multi-Grain Rolls
What you get are 24 frozen pieces of dough that you first have to thaw and double in size. This takes from 4 to 6 hours depending on how warm your kitchen is. The first time I didn't let them rise as much as I should have and it was a bit dense. I just now prepared them correctly and the texture is perfect.
I put the dough in a muffin tin but you can put them in a baking pan if you have one. Cook them for 15 - 20 minutes at 350 degrees F until they're golden brown. Cool them on a wire rack or eat them warm out of the oven with a bit of butter and honey.
You might wonder why bother with frozen rolls when many big grocery stores have bakeries. The bakery in my local Albertsons doesn't have many choices for rolls and they usually just have white rolls or potato rolls or wheat rolls. They look cheaply made anyway and yet are not cheap.
Another advantage for frozen rolls is that you can make just as much as you need so you don't have a bunch of stale rolls that you don't want to eat.
The biggest reason for frozen rolls is that you can use the dough to make more than just plain rolls. Rhodes has a bunch of recipes here. I haven't made any of them but a bunch of them look tasty.
If you want tasty rolls without having to make them yourself, Rhodes Bake-N-Serv is an excellent choice.
Score: 8 / 10
